The Minnesota Twins placed infielder Royce Lewis on the injured list with a right adductor strain and selected the contract of one of their top prospects, shortstop Brooks Lee, from Triple-A St. Paul.

To make room on the 40-man roster for Lewis, right-hander Brock Stewart (right shoulder tendinitis) was placed on the 60-day injured list.

Lewis, 25, was batting .292 with 10 home runs and 18 RBIs in 24 games this season. He reportedly will not be back until after the All-Star break later this month. In parts of three seasons with the Twins, Lewis is batting .303 with 27 home runs and 75 RBIs in 94 games.

Lee, considered the No. 13 overall prospect in baseball by MLB Pipeline, is batting .350 this season with seven home runs and 21 RBIs in 30 games at three different minor league levels as he gets set to make his major league debut.

Over three seasons in the Twins system, the 23-year-old is batting .292 with 27 home runs and 125 RBIs in 186 games.

Lee was the No. 8 overall draft pick by the Twins in 2022 out of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.

Stewart, 32, already has been on the IL for 60 days and is set to have a bullpen session soon as he moves closer to a return. Stewart had a 0.68 ERA in 13 relief appearances this season.
