San Francisco’s Logan Webb pitched seven strong innings and was supported by third baseman Matt Chapman’s offense and defense as the visiting Giants beat the Atlanta Braves 4-2 on Thursday in the decisive game of a three-game series.

The Giants won a series in Atlanta for the first time since sweeping a three-game set in May 2018.

Webb (7-6) worked seven innings for the league-leading 11th time and increased his major-league-leading innings total to 119 1/3. He allowed two runs — both in the first inning — on seven hits and one walk with six strikeouts.

Tyler Rogers pitched a perfect eighth and closer Camilo Doval worked around a leadoff single to toss a scoreless ninth, striking out two to earn his 16th save on his 27th birthday.

Chapman went 2-for-4 with a double, a homer and two RBIs. He also fired a relay to the plate to cut down Matt Olson, who was trying to score from first on Austin Riley’s fourth-inning double. Chapman has hit safely in 11 of his past 13 games.

Atlanta starter Charlie Morton (5-5) pitched 5 1/3 innings and served up two homers, He allowed four runs, three earned, on five hits, two walks and two hit batters while fanning five.

The Braves took a 2-0 lead in the first inning. Jarred Kelenic singled and scored on a double by Ozzie Albies when right fielder Mike Yastrzemski’s throw got away from the cutoff man, first baseman LaMonte Wade Jr. Albies later came home on Riley’s sacrifice fly.

San Francisco took the lead in the fourth. Wade hit a leadoff single before Heliot Ramos belted a two-run homer, his 12th, a 424-foot shot to straightaway center field. Two batters later, Chapman added a solo homer just over the wall in left-center, his 12th, to put the Giants ahead.

San Francisco made it 4-2 in the sixth inning. Chapman hit a check-swing liner the other way, and the ball eluded first baseman Matt Olson and rolled into right field for a run-scoring double.
