It was the catch everyone was talking about Wednesday after the game. With the Giants lead only two runs in the 6th inning, Gorkys Hernandez threw his body at the wall to make an outstanding defensive play at a critical time in the game.

Zack Greinke threw six solid innings to continue his mastery of San Francisco and the Diamondbacks beat Johnny Cueto and the Giants 4-3.

It’s the second matchup of the year between the pitcher the San Francisco Giants wanted to sign (Greinke) vs. the pitcher they ended up actually signing (Cueto) this past offseason. And so far, it’s turned out pretty well for the Giants.

Yes, it’s only a 2-game series and yes, it’s against the last-place Diamondbacks. But, former Giant Kevin Frandsen says the momentum from the outcome of this series will play a significant role in the outcome of their weekend series with the first-place Cubs.
