The Giants’ latest defeat ended a streak of 11 consecutive home wins against the Padres and, more importantly, dropped San Francisco four games behind Los Angeles in the NL West.

Matt Moore struck out 11 in seven innings, Hunter Pence hit a key two-run double and the San Francisco Giants beat Zack Greinke and the Arizona Diamondbacks 5-3 on Sunday for a series sweep.

Hunter Pence had three hits, including a solo homer, and Johnny Cueto pitched seven solid innings to lead the Giants to an 11-3 victory over the Diamondbacks on Saturday night.

Bruce Bochy gave Santiago Casilla another chance and it cost him, but the Giants outlasted the Diamondbacks 7-6 in 12 innings in the series opener Friday in Arizona.

Santiago Casilla is no longer the Giants’ full-time closer as Bruce Bochy told reporters in Arizona ahead of Friday’s game that he will use a closer-by-committee strategy moving forward.

There is little doubt that Santiago Casilla is not the answer for the Giants in the 9th inning, but who is qualified to replace him?

With only a half-game lead over the NL Wild Card as they open a 3-game series with the Diamondbacks, the Giants are quickly entering do-or-die time. Mr. T says if they don’t stop sending Santiago Cassila.

The Giants do need a change at closer and it’s probably a long time coming. Bruce Bochy doesn’t have many options and Joe Nathan is far from a sure-thing improvement, but it’s worth a shot.

Bruce, it’s over. Not the season, at least not yet anyway, but the relationship you have with Santiago Casilla as your closer.
