According to an ESPN report, the Golden State Warriors have elected keep second year forward Kevon Looney through the 2017-18 season, picking up the third year team option in his contract worth $1.2 million.

There may be a lot going on in the world of sports, but KNBR’s Gary Radnich says that if he could only watch one team all season, it would be the Golden State Warriors.

After adding Kevin Durant to their already juggernaut outfit, there’s little doubt that the Golden State Warriors enter 2016-17 season as the villains of the NBA. That title doesn’t exactly sit with with Warriors executive Bob Myers, who told Gary and Larry on Friday that much of the resentment directed toward Golden state comes from a false perception that the team is a dynasty.

Things have been on a precipitous decline for the 49ers ever since head coach Jim Harbaugh was let go at the end of the 2014 season, but Friday’s news may be an indicator that the franchise has officially hit rock bottom.

Earlier this week an ESPN the Magazine story detailed the tension that existed between Draymond Green and some of his teammates and coaches throughout last season, but that wasn’t what Klay Thompson took issue with when asked about the piece by reporters during Friday’s practice.

With the addition of Kevin Durant into the fold, the Warriors are supposed to experience some growing pains at the start of the upcoming season. Based on their preseason performances, however, Durant and the Warriors seem to be acclimating seamlessly.

The 49ers only two offensive weapons remain banged up. Carlos Hyde once again did not participate in practice on Friday and has been listed as out for the 49ers Week 7 clash against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday. Veteran wide receiver Torrey Smith was limited for the second consecutive practice with a back injury sustained on Wednesday. His status is currently listed as questionable.

The San Francisco 49er defense has allowed the most rushing yards per game this season (174.5) and is coming off a 45-16 defeat to the Buffalo Bills last weekend where they were gashed for 313 on the ground. 49ers radio analyst Tim Ryan called the performance from the run defense unacceptable on Friday morning when he joined the Murph and Mac Show.

Kevin Durant may be a four-time scoring champion, but new Warriors assistant coach Mike Brown thinks the 6′ 9″ small forward has the potential to have a significant impact on both ends of the floor this season. Brown joined the Murph and Mac show on Friday morning and sung the praises of Durant’s rarely talked about defensive skills.

The last a team was favored to the point where gamblers would stand to win less than you bet was the 1997-98 Chicago Bulls, who were coming off a then record 72-win regular season and an NBA title
