SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – The San Francisco Giants released their 2024 regular season schedule today, which will feature the Giants opening the season at the San Diego Padres for four games beginning on Thursday, March 28, followed by a three-game series at the Los Angeles Dodgers starting on Monday, April 1. Following the season-opening road trip, the Giants will return to San Francisco for a six-game homestand against San Diego and the Washington Nationals. The Giants’ Home Opener is Friday, April 5 versus the Padres.
The schedule is highlighted by the Cardinals and Giants playing at Rickwood Field, the oldest professional ballpark in the United States and former home of the Birmingham Black Barons of the Negro Leagues on June 20, 2024. This experience, scheduled around Juneteenth next year, will include a variety of activities as a tribute to the Negro Leagues and its greatest living player – Hall of Famer, Giants Legend, Birmingham native and Birmingham Black Barons player Willie Mays.
Other highlights on the Giants schedule include a doubleheader on Saturday, July 27 versus Colorado. It’ll mark the Giants’ first scheduled doubleheader since Sunday, July 27, 1997 versus Pittsburgh. The Giants also welcome the New York Yankees to town May 31-June 2 for a three-game series, marking the Yankees’ third-ever regular season visit to Oracle Park and first since 2019.
The Giants are home for Mother’s Day (Sunday, May 12 vs. Cincinnati), Memorial Day (Monday, May 27 vs. Philadelphia) and Father’s Day (Sunday, June 16 vs. Los Angeles-AL).
