Well, there you have it.
Draymond Green has been suspended without pay for Game 3 of the first-round series vs. the Kings, the NBA announced on Tuesday evening.
Here’s what the league said in a press release:
The suspension was based in part on Green’s history of unsportsmanlike acts.
Green’s actions were in response to Sabonis grabbing and holding Green’s right ankle after falling to the floor. Green received a Flagrant Foul 2 and was ejected, and Sabonis was assessed a technical foul.
The incident took place in the fourth quarter of Monday’s game, when Green stomped on the chest of Sabonis.
This is the second time Green has been suspended from a playoff series, the first coming during the 2016 Finals when Green was suspended for Game 5 due to Flagrant Foul accumulation. The Warriors would go onto lose the series to the Cavaliers 4-3.
Green’s absence will be significant in a must-win Game 3 at Chase Center on Thursday, with the Warriors down 2-0 to the Kings.
