Jordan Poole’s status for Game 2 of the Warriors’ first-round series vs. the Kings is uncertain.
Poole sustained a sprained ankle in the third quarter of Game 1 after he was fouled under the basket by Kings guard Davion Mitchell. Poole limped around after the incident but remained in the game and finished with 17 points and three assists in 22 minutes.
The Warriors went with a nine-man rotation in Game 1, but Jonathan Kuminga played just 10 minutes. If Poole can’t go or is limited, it will likely mean more minutes for Donte DiVincenzo who played 20 in Game 1. It could also mean Moses Moody gets some run, as he’s the only other guard on the roster who didn’t play on Saturday.
Poole was effective driving to the basket in Game 1, earning a team-high eight free throws, making seven of them. He did hurt the Warriors defensively, and against the potent Kings offense, will have to score consistently in this series to justify his shortcomings on the other end.
