An extended skirmish between the Eagles and 49ers late in the fourth quarter culminated with Trent Williams body slamming Philadelphia safety K’Von Wallace. Both players were ejected.
The scrum began when Brandon Aiyuk and an Eagles defensive back mixed it up, and then escalated when Deebo Samuel got involved. Wallace appeared to be holding onto Deebo’s facemask, and Williams wasn’t about to let that stand.
After the body slam, the two benches emptied slightly before peace was restored.
In a game that was essentially over for most of the second half, things were bound to reach a boiling point.
