When you put two of the most dominant football brands on a national stage, with both near the peak of their powers, the interest level is bound to be outrageous.

Few rivalries have such a historically significant past as the Cowboys and the 49ers, from The Catch, to three consecutive NFC title games and everything in between.

With last year’s wild-card win in Dallas, the 49ers re-kindled the flames of that old rivalry. The embers are still warm from last year.

And both teams are better than they were last year.

The ticket prices reflect that. According to TicketIQ, which has tracked ticket data going back to 2012, this is going to be the most expensive Divisional Round game ever.

As of the time of publishing this story, the cheapest listed ticket on the secondary market was $563 for 49ers-Cowboys. Giants at Eagles is also historically expensive at $433, with Bengals at Bills $248 and Jaguars at Chiefs $203.

Per TicketIQ, these are the most expensive divisional round games ever based on the average list price of tickets on the secondary market:

  • 2023, Cowboys at 49ers: $1,420
  • 2023, Giants at Eagles: $1,106
  • 2019, Cowboys at Rams: $717
  • 2023, Bengals at Bills: $616
  • 2017, Packers at Cowboys: $606

If you look at SeatGeek, prices jump up drastically for 49ers-Cowboys:

  • Jaguars at Chiefs: From $103
  • Bengals at Bills: From $150
  • Giants at Eagles: From $246
  • Cowboys at 49ers: From $429

It’s safe to say there’s a fair bit of interest in the matchup, which is slated for 3:30 p.m. on Sunday. Last year’s game was the most-watched wild-card matchup since 2015 with 41.5 million viewers, and you can bet these numbers will be higher.
