Monday night’s game between the Bills and Bengals was postponed after a scary scene, when Buffalo safety Damar Hamlin collapsed and suffered cardiac arrest on the field after making a tackle. CPR was administered to Hamlin who remains in critical condition at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
As the scene was playing out, a number of 49ers players rushed to Twitter to offer support.
In addition to the words, it appears at least two 49ers — Christian McCaffrey and Trey Lance — made significant donations to Damar Hamlin’s toy drive, one that has now raised $3.8 million at the time of this writing.
Hamlin is a Pennsylvania native who was selected by the Bills in the sixth round of the 2021 NFL Draft out of Pittsburgh.
