At long last, the MLB’s award votes have arrived. The Giants’ season ended a month-and-a-half ago, and they concluded their underwhelming campaign with two Cy Young candidates in Carlos Rodón and Logan Webb.

Rodón was sixth in National League voting, in a year he posted a 2.88 ERA over a career-high 178 innings. He secured three second-place votes, a third, four fourths and seven fifths for a 30-point tally.

He led the league with a 2.25 FIP (fielding-independent pitching) and a 12.0 K/9 rate (strikeouts per nine innings). It’s the second-straight All-Star season and top-six Cy Young voting season for him after he struggled with injuries in Chicago early on in his career.

Logan Webb, meanwhile, secured exactly one fourth-place vote, putting him 11th in the NL voting. It made the Giants one of two NL teams, along with the Atlanta Braves, to have two Cy Young finalists.

Webb had an impressive, workhorse season, posting a 2.90 ERA over a team-leading 192.1 innings (17th-most in the majors). The sinkerballer wasn’t nearly as dominant as Rodón, though, given how he pitches to contact. Rodón struck out 74 more batters (237) in 12 fewer innings than Webb (163 strikeouts).

Below are the full Cy Young voting tallies from each league, as voted on by members of the Baseball Writers’ Association of America. Ballots for each award were submitted before the start of the postseason from two writers in every city, based on the league covered.

The system rewards seven points for first place, four points for second place, three points for third place, two votes for fourth place and one point for fifth place.
