The 49ers knew they were getting a duel-threat. Turns out, he’s more than that.
Christian McCaffrey’s first touchdown with San Francisco was a touchdown pass — one that he threw — in Sunday’s game vs. the Los Angeles Rams. McCaffrey’s 34-yard bomb to Brandon Aiyuk came on a double-pass, with the running back catching Jimmy Garoppolo’s screen behind the line before launching it to the wide-open receiver.
It’s McCaffrey’s second career TD pass. He also threw one in 2018 with the Carolina Panthers.
Sunday is McCaffrey’s second game as a member of the 49ers, but his first after a full week of practice.
