SAN FRANCISCO – The 2022 NBA Champion Golden State Warriors have waived two-way guards Lester Quinones and Quinndary Weatherspoon, it was announced today.

Quinones appeared in two games this preseason, averaging 5.0 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.0 assist in 10.0 minutes per game. Undrafted out of Memphis, he signed a two-way deal with the club on July 5, 2022.

Weatherspoon played in four games this preseason and averaged 4.5 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.0 assist in 11.2 minutes per game. The guard appeared in 11 games last season with the Warriors, recording averages of 2.7 points and 1.3 rebounds in 6.6 minutes per game. A three-year NBA veteran, Weatherspoon signed a two-way contract with Golden State on July 22, 2022.

Now a group of training camp invitees will compete for the two-way spots, including Pat Spencer, Anthony Lamb, Ty Jerome and Jerome Robinson.

Each team gets two two-way roster spots. A two-way contract is essentially a half-and-half contract for players who will be spending the majority of the season in the G League, but who the NBA team wants to keep under contract.
