The George Kittle injury saga continues.
Kittle sustained a groin injury in practice on the Monday before the season opener and missed team every practice until this Friday, when he was limited. Here’s Kittle warming up before that practice:
Reports mostly indicate that Kittle, listed as questionable, is not expected to play. The San Francisco Chronicle’s Eric Branch was the first to report that Kittle is unlikely to play, with ESPN’s Adam Schefter following that up on Saturday night.
The only slight counter to that is NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, saying that Kittle is “still pushing to play.”
That, of course, is sort of flowery language. It could simply be the ole, “he’s a tough guy” report, used to highlight that Kittle tried to play, before sitting out. It certainly isn’t an optimistic tone for Sunday.
