Richard Sherman’s career as an analyst just started, but he’s already mixing it up with some of his colleagues.
During Thursday’s opener between the Bills and Rams it was ESPN’s Dan Orlovsky, who Sherman took to task on Twitter for defending his “buddy’ Matthew Stafford.
The argument stemmed from Stafford’s interception in the first half, where he threw the ball of out of the reach of receiver Tyler Higbee, and into the hands of Bills corner Dane Jackson. Orlovsky said the play was due to a miscommunication between the TE and QB. Sherman responded to that with “Stafford being Stafford”. Orlovsky disagreed with that quip and then things really took off, with Sherman calling into question the former Lions QB’s credibility.
Orlovsky then pointed out that Stafford had excellent stats during the postseason but Sherman still wasn’t buying it. Ultimately, the two parties seemed to end the discussion on a respectful note.
For what it’s worth, here’s the play in question:
Stafford’s play was tough to defend on Thursday. He threw three interceptions in a 31-10 loss at home to the Bills.
