The Warriors are moving in on the buyout market.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Golden State will make a swoop for former Nuggets forward JaMychal Green, who was sent to Oklahoma City along with a protected 2027 first-round pick in order to acquire the 30th overall pick in this year’s draft.

Green signed a two-year, $16.4 million deal with Denver in 2021, but had a pretty rough season last year.

He averaged 6.4 points and 4.2 rebounds per game, with his 3-point shooting numbers taking a drastic dip. He’s a career 36.6 percent 3-point shooter and shot 38.7 percent or better from deep from 2018-21, but fell off a statistical cliff last season, going 26.6 percent from range.

Those 6.4 points and 4.2 rebounds and 16.2 minutes per game are the lowest figures since his sophomore season.

You’d have to imagine the Warriors believe last year was something of an anomaly. At the very least, he’ll be a cheap, low-risk, veteran front court addition that they probably need.
