Andrew Wiggins is an NBA champion, and was pretty clearly the second-most reliable player for the Warriors in the Finals.
But Wiggins says he has regrets about the season.
While he was vaccinated against COVID-19 some time around the start of October, Wiggins said then that the only reason he did so was because he felt pressured by the NBA.
In an interview with FanSided, he said he regrets getting the shot.
“I still wish I didn’t get [vaccinated], to be honest with you,” Wiggins said. “You gotta do what you gotta do.
“I did it, and I was an All-Star this year and champion, so that was the good part, just not missing out on the year, the best year of my career. But for my body, I just don’t like putting all that stuff in my body, so I didn’t like that and I didn’t like that it wasn’t my choice. I didn’t like that it was either get this or don’t play.”
The concerns he expressed about the vaccine in October were about it affecting his longterm health, including concerns like gene damage and the potential to cause cancerous cells, despite the current lack of evidence that the vaccine could lead to either.
