After a season in which he was an offensive player of the year candidate, and slugged the San Francisco 49ers to and through the playoffs, Deebo Samuel is not a top-10 receiver in Madden 23.
The full ratings are yet to be released by Electronic Arts — the company that ruined the Madden franchise and other titles years ago in favor of promoting microtransactions — who released the ratings of the 10 best receivers and tight ends in the game. Here they are:

The game, which will surely play as near-identical to the last half-dozen releases, is slated to come out at some point this offseason. Madden 22 has a 0.6 user rating on Metacritic, preceded by Madden 21, which boasts a 0.3 rating.
Regardless of game play, it makes little sense that Samuel would not be rated as a top 10 receiver in the league. Samuel was a first-team All-Pro in 2021, lead the NFL in yards per reception at 18.2 and set an NFL record with eight rushing touchdowns as a wide receiver. Overall, Samuel caught 77 passes for 1,405 yards and scored 14 total touchdowns.
