Stephen Curry got his fourth NBA title, and his first NBA Finals MVP.
Curry broke down in tears of joy before the final whistle of the Warriors 103-90 win in Game 6 of the NBA Finals. Curry fell to the parquet floor, before picking himself up and embracing his father, Dell, then his teammates.
Shortly after Steph was awarded the first Finals MVP of his career after averaging 31.2 points per game in the six game series.
Steph wasn’t the only Warrior to get emotional. Klay Thompson also let out tears of joy after returning to the mountaintop following two seasons missed with devastating injury.
After going through so much adversity, and being counted out despite their five year dominance, this title feels a lot like this group’s first in 2015. The emotions that flowed afterwards proved that’s the case.
