It sounds like Stephen Curry wasn’t offering up wishful thinking when he said he didn’t think he’d miss Game 4 of the NBA Finals.

According to Shams Charania of the The Athletic, Curry will not need an MRI on the reaggravated left foot, and there is “optimism” he will play in Game 4 on Friday. Major injury has apparently been avoided.

Stephen Curry revealed that the injury he sustained at the end of Wednesday’s Game 3 loss was the same foot sprain he sustained earlier in the year when Marcus Smart landed on him. In this instance, Curry dove on the floor for a loose ball, and had Al Horford — all 240 pounds of him — land on Steph’s left foot.

“I’ll be alright,” Curry said on Wednesday night. “I got caught underneath Al. Obviously, there will be some pain but I’ll be alright. Figure out how it feels tomorrow and get ready for Friday.”

“I don’t feel like I’ll miss a game.”
