It’s just about time for playoff basketball. In less than a week, Chase Center will host its inaugural Warriors playoff game.
We finally know who that opponent is after the Utah Jazz won their final game, clinching the fifth seed. It’ll be Nikola Jokic and the sixth-seeded Denver Nuggets coming to San Francisco.
The series opener will be in the Saturday night primetime spot at 5:30 PST. As of yet, the league has not announced the rest of the playoff schedule.
Thanks to the NBA’s addition of play-in games, the Warriors will have a bit of time to work with before that opener. The 9 and 10 seed game in the West will be the New Orleans Pelicans hosting the San Antonio Spurs with the winner facing the loser of the Timberwolves-Clippers matchup for the final playoff spot.
The Warriors clinched the No. 3 seed and tied for the third-best record in the NBA (53-29) with a Klay Thompson-led 128-107 win over the Pelicans. This will be the team’s first playoff appearance since the infamous NBA Finals loss in 2019 against the Toronto Raptors.
