The 49ers were well represented on Pro Football Focus’ end of year list of the top 100 players for the 2021 season.
Offensive tackle Trent Williams was named as not only the league’s top offensive lineman but the top player in all of football, ranked No. 1 on the list with a 98.3 grade. The grade is the highest mark PFF have ever given to an offensive tackle.
“Wide back” Deebo Samuel was the 49ers other player in the top 10, clocking in at No. 8 in the rankings. Samuel was the third-highest ranked WR behind Cooper Kupp (No. 3) and Devante Adams (No. 5). Samuel finished with over 1,400 receiving yards in the regular season, and set an NFL record with eight rushing touchdowns as a wide receiver.
George Kittle was next on the list, ranked 16th overall, and the second ranked tight end behind Mark Andrews (No. 13). Kittle was named to his third Pro Bowl in five seasons, racking up 916 yards and six TDs while also grading as an excellent blocker.
Nick Bosa finished ranked No. 31 after missing all of last year with a torn ACL, and finished as the seventh ranked edge defender. His 88 pressures were second among all edge rushers.
Last on the list for the 49ers was Fred Warner, who had a solid finish to the season after an uneven start. Warner’s ranking of 70 overall is a hit from being ranked as the 30th best player last season, but was still enough to see the linebacker ranked as the fifth best linebacker in all of football.
