The 49ers will enter Green Bay with a less than ideal situation in the secondary. After a season of wading through a desert of poor cornerback play, they seemed to have found a viable situation with Emmanuel Moseley and rookie Ambry Thomas as their two starting corners.

But Thomas suffered a bone bruise in his knee against the Cowboys, and while he was listed as questionable coming into this game, he will not play against the Packers.

Below is the 49ers’ list of inactives:

  • CB Ambry Thomas
  • CB Deommodore Lenoir
  • OL Jaylon Moore
  • LB Marcell Harris
  • RB Trey Sermon
  • S Jarrod Wilson
  • DL Maurice Hurst

Veteran linebacker Mark Nzeocha and corner Darqueze Dennard have both been activated from the practice squad.

For Green Bay, there are major additions and subtractions.

Star offensive tackle David Bakhtiari, who suffered a torn ACL last December, and did not look himself in his season debut in Week 18, will be inactive, as will deep threat receiver Marques Valdes-Scantling.

Below is the Packers’ inactive list:

  • S Shawn Davis
  • S Vernon Scott
  • LB Jonathan Garvin
  • T David Bakhtiari
  • WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling

However, Green Bay will get a few massive reinforcements, with star edge rusher Za’Darius Smith and linebacker Whitney Mercilus both activated from injured reserve. Corner Jaire Alexander is also active.
