It might have been against the lowly Bears, but Sunday’s win meant a lot for the 49ers. For proof, just take a look at Kyle Shanahan’s postgame speech. Kudos to the member of the 49ers PR staff who was in charge of bleeping this one.
“I’m so f***ing proud of you guys man,” Shanahan said in the locker room. “I know everything didn’t go perfect in that game. We talked about whatever it f***ing takes. Aiyuk, f***ing awesome job, all you on the first drive. F***ing o-line, the challenge of of that d-line and no sacks, keeping everyone off Jimmy all game. There’s so many ways to win a f***ing game today. D, I know we didn’t have our best game, but we did what it f***ing took to win. That’s what f***ing matters.”
Shanahan concluded by giving game balls to Mitch Wishnowsky’s wife, Maddie, who gave birth to their daughter over the weekend, and one to Chicago native Jimmy Garoppolo for leading the 49ers to the win.
“He, like everyone in here, has had his back against the wall. He stood right f***ing up to it and went f***ing off today.”
Losing four games in a row is tough, and you can tell getting back on track was a huge release of tension for the 49ers.
