With the 49ers ailing in more ways than one, they’ll look to snap a four-game skid against the similarly hapless Chicago Bears on Sunday.

After some uncertainty at the start of the week, they’ll get a substantial jolt in having left tackle Trent Williams active. Williams missed out last week due to an ankle injury (he also has an elbow injury), but practiced for the first time in two weeks on Friday, before being listed as questionable.

Edge rusher Samson Ebukam, who was also listed as questionable with an ankle injury, will be active as well. With Javon Kinlaw, Maurice Hurst and Dee Ford all inactive, his active status is substantial, as is the return of defensive tackle Kevin Givens (returning from injured reserve, ankle) and defensive end Jordan Willis (six-game suspension for use of PEDs ended).

Below are the 49ers’ inactives, which include some key players like Azeez Al-Shaair. They also lost Javon Kinlaw for the year earlier this week, as he underwent season-ending knee surgery. With Dre Greenlaw still inactive, Kyle Shanahan pointed to linebacker Tyrell Adams as carrying the load:

  • DE Dee Ford (concussion)
  • LB Azeez Al-Shaair (concussion)
  • G Aaron Banks
  • DT Maurice Hurst (calf)
  • CB Ambry Thomas
  • CB Deommodore Lenoir (personal, wife giving birth)
  • WR Travis Benjamin

For the Bears, they’ll be without star edge rusher Khalil Mack.
