The Warriors have a roster spot open, and are apparently looking to fill it with another ball handler.
That’s what we can infer based on Monday’s report by Chris Haynes, which stated that Golden State is going to work out veteran point guard Darren Collison later this week.
Free agent guard Darren Collison will work out for the Golden State Warriors this week, league sources tell @YahooSports.

Collison, 34, did not play during the last two seasons after walking away from the game to focus on his faith. The 10-year veteran was playing quality basketball in his final season with the Indiana Pacers, averaging over 11 points and six assists while shooting over 40% from deep during 2018-19.
If Collison still has it, the partnership could be perfect for the Warriors who need another backup point guard. Currently, Jordan Poole is pegged for that spot, but Golden State doesn’t have another established player behind him, with Gary Payton II the most likely to be added. Andre Iguodala will also likely share in the backup point guard duties.
