That’s the absolute last thing the Warriors wanted to hear. Just as rookie center James Wiseman seemed to really be finding his groove and using a simplified game to create confidence for himself, it all comes to a brutal, screeching halt.
According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, the 20-year-old Wiseman has suffered a torn meniscus in his right knee, and is feared to be out for the remainder of the season. Meniscus timelines vary depending on the severity of the tear, but if surgery is required, Wiseman would likely miss the rest of the year.

The injury happened on the play below, as Wiseman went up for a one-handed dunk. The blocked shot by Kenyon Martin Jr. sent Wiseman down sideways, and he braced his fall awkwardly on his left leg, showing immediate pain. He stood back up and limped off the court, but did not return to the game.
