It’s a real spicy week for Warriors podcasts. On Monday, there was the Steve Kerr-Kevin Durant controversy in which Kerr said, on a podcast with The Ringer’s Logan Murdock and Raja Bell, that the Warriors’ 2019-20 season was more enjoyable than the prior season, which was Kevin Durant’s last with in Golden State.
Durant’s friction within the team has been well-documented, and Kerr went on to explain that it was refreshing from a coaching standpoint to go from the exhaustion of the fifth year of a dynasty coming to an end, to a young team, which, while objectively terrible, was much more fun to coach.
The quote was only released in part by NBC Sports Bay Area’s Drew Shiller, to which Durant responded, writing, “This is hilarious,” on Twitter. Kerr, furious, called out Shiller in his ensuing presser, providing context to the interview. Shiller later wrote an apology on Twitter.
Now, there’s some more spice on Twitter. In another podcast interview with NBC Sports Bay Area, Draymond Green said, “I think I’m the best defender to ever play in the NBA. I stand by that, that I’d put myself up against anyone.”
As you might imagine, this drew the ire of some folks. Specifically, it irritated Tony Allen, who was known as one of the NBA’s elite defenders in his 15-year career. Allen responded to Green’s quote on Twitter, tagging Green and writing:
“Big cap!!! Who stamped you? Who you clamp!?
In the words of Jay Z! ‘We don’t believe u, u need more people!’ @money23green”

Based on this pace, we’ll probably have Steph on a podcast on Wednesday saying he could break Jack Nicklaus’ record 18 major golf wins.
UPDATE: Draymond responded with a haymaker:
I was waiting on you to stamp me Big homie, but your stamp book started running low in 2015 when we used you against your team on the way to my 1ST championship. https://t.co/mDHfltdfZ0
