Damion Lee gives Warriors first victory with game-winning three-pointer

Damion Lee saved the Warriors from what was nearly their third consecutive embarrassing loss of the 2020-21 season.

Lee hit a game-winning three-pointer with just over a second on the clock to give the Warriors a 129-128 win over the Bulls, their first victory of the young season. The win came just 12 minutes after Golden State had given up 41 third-quarter points to what was one of the worst teams in the NBA last year, and looked on their way to another loss after dropping their first two games by 26 and 39 points.

The game-winner capped off a solid game for Lee (12 points on 4-of-5 from deep), who developed into one of the better players on last year’s team. Performances like this will keep him in the rotation on this year’s version as well.

The shot prompted tweets from Klay Thompson and Andre Iguodala, the latter of which referenced the fact that Lee is married to Curry’s brother, Sydel.
