Before Rudy Gobert tested positive for the coronavirus and the NBA season was swiftly put on hiatus last Wednesday, the Golden State Warriors were scheduled to play a game, albeit in an empty arena, on Thursday. Their opponent? The Brooklyn Nets.

According to Alex Schiffer of The Athletic, four Nets players have tested positive for the COVID-19 coronavirus, with three of them reportedly asymptomatic.

Had Gobert not tested positive for the coronavirus late on Wednesday night (teammate Donovan Mitchell later tested positive, reportedly causing substantial friction within the organization at Gobert) and the NBA not stepped in to suspend play going forward, the Warriors would have played the Nets on Thursday night, when Stephen Curry was slated to make his re-return after returning and missing a week after he contracted influenza A (the normal flu). There were also some reports that Kevin Durant would be joining the Nets on their road trip out West.
