Kevin Durant might not sniff the court this season, but that’s not going to stop him from making consistant headlines.
Today’s comes via an interview with the Player’s Tribune, and Durant’s answer to the question of if he could create a starting five comprised of the best players he’s ever played with, who would be on it?
The answer might surprise some Warriors fans:
Kyrie Irving, James Harden, Draymond Green, Serge Ibaka, and himself.
“We can switch everything on D, we got all-world scorers and facilitators, that’s a perfect team,” Durant said.

That’s right, the greatest shooter of all time didn’t make the cut. Leaving off Stephen Curry for Harden is one thing, as the Rockets guard has at least won an MVP, but it’s hard to argue that Irving is discernibly better at any NBA skill than Curry. Perhaps close friends get a bump.
Additionally, Harden and Irving are notoriously two of the worst defensive guards in the league, throwing KD’s “we can switch everything” comment into question.
We look forward to the smirk on Steph’s face when someone asks him about this.
