Draymond on return of DeMarcus Cousins: ‘All hell about to break loose’

The Warriors appear to be peaking. After they demolished the Nuggets in their most impressive win of the season on Tuesday, Golden State put together a win nearly as impressive on Wednesday, overcoming a first-half deficit to beat the New Orleans Pelicans 147-140 on the backend of a home-road back-to-back.

Unfortunately for the rest of the league, Golden State catching fire is coinciding with the return of DeMarcus Cousins, who is scheduled to make his Warriors debut on Friday in Los Angeles.

Draymond Green was asked what that means after Thursday’s game:

“All hell about to break loose,” Green told NBC’s Kerith Burke.

Kevin Durant wasn’t willing to go quite that far.

“I got high expectations and am really optimistic about the situation but let’s be real, we are human beings,” Durant said. “He’s been out for a long time and for him to regain his rhythm, we are definitely going to assist him on that, it may take a couple games for us to figure it out.

“I know Draymond is not talking about the first game back. I’m sure once we hit a groove that’s what he’s talking about. I’m ecited to see the process of integrating Cousins into the lineup and playing a lot of minutes. I guess he’ll be on a minute restriction, I don’t know how that works but once he starts upping his minutes I’m excited about that, and I think he will be in a good flow, but just relax a little bit.”
