After Saturday evening, Draymond Green was one technical foul away from being suspended by the NBA. On Monday, he has slightly more cushion.
The league has rescinded the technical foul that Green was assessed during Saturday night’s beat down of the Thunder, which was his 15th of the season, one away from an automatic suspension. Green would then be eligible for a suspension for every two additional technical fouls after receiving his 16th. Green now has 14 technical fouls on the season, the most in the NBA.
Green appeared to wrongly receive his technical on Saturday due to a misunderstanding with the referee, who thought Green was either directing a yell toward him after being called for a foul, or possibly that Green was taunting Jeremi Grant who had been knocked down during a shot block attempt. Replays appeared to indicate that Green was directing his emotion toward the Oracle Arena crowd, however, in an attempt to pump them up.
Draymond didn’t seem that concerned about the technical after the game.
