Tolbert & Lund began the Steve Kerr Show on Friday evening by making fun of the head coach for being caught on camera cursing at the officials in the first quarter against the San Antonio Spurs on Thursday night.

“Alright, it’s time to talk to the head coach of the Golden State Warriors, Steve Kerr and if you don’t like that well f–k you, you motherf–ker,” Tolbert said in the same way Kerr.

Kerr thought Tolbert’s opening line was hilarious, but he doesn’t feel the same way about his actions and neither do members of his family.

“That was funny, but I’ve got to get better. That was embarrassing,” Kerr said. “My mother, I don’t know if she was watching, but I hope not. She hasn’t said anything, so that’s a good sign, but that was embarrassing. I was bad.”

Although Kerr’s mother has yet to see the video of her son cursing at the officials, he was made aware that his foul mouth was caught on camera by his daughter, Madeleine.

“I didn’t even think about it when it was happening,” Kerr said. “My daughter sent a text last night, she said, ‘Jesus, dad. You’re such an idiot.’ Then I saw a highlight of it on my phone and thought, ‘this is embarrassing.’”

Looking back, Kerr admitted that he let his emotions get the better of him in that moment. His passion for basketball and cursing tendancies made for a funny video, but was a humiliating moment for the head coach.

“I’m pretty passionate and I unfortunately have a foul mouth. When I say that stuff, I don’t know if I’ve ever said it within earshot of an official. Obviously, I would’ve been kicked out, but what I’m saying is I’m usually saying it when the ref is all the way on the other side of the floor. But the camera, you got to keep in mind that the camera can always get you.”

Kerr went on to say, “You can be passionate and have a better choice of words. I’m going to try anyway.”
