49ers deny reported interest in Tramaine Brock

Former 49er Tramaine Brock was dismissed of domestic violence charges on Tuesday.

In June, the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s office accused Brock of punching his then-girlfriend in the face and attempting to strangle her on April 6.

Brock pleaded not guilty to the charges in June, and prosecutors dismissed the case on Tuesday due to “insufficient evidence,” with the victim declining to cooperate.

Brock was released by the 49ers following his arrest in April, but according to a report from Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee, four teams – including the 49ers – have shown interest in signing Brock.

The 49ers signed Brock as an undrafted free agent following the 2010 NFL Draft. Brock has played in 80 games for the organization, amassing 11 career interceptions. Brock started all 16 games last season for the first time in his career.

The 28-year-old was scheduled to make $3.1 million this season. Although the case has been dismissed, Brock still could face discipline from the NFL.
