With Zaza Pachulia and JaVale McGee still unsigned and two roster spots open, the Warriors are exploring the market for free-agent centers. According to veteran NBA reporter David Aldridge, one of those options is former Miami Heat center Willie Reed.

Reed, 27, entered the league in 2015 with the Brooklyn Nets after making the All-NBA D-League first team and defensive first team. Reed joined the Heat as a free agent last year, and averaged 5.3 points and 4.7 rebounds in 14.5 minutes per game, while also shooting 57 percent. Reed declined his player option to become an unrestricted free agent.
It is possible that the Warriors could re-sign both Pachuila and McGee, assuming they are each willing to sign for the veterans minimum. There haven’t been any official reports about Pachulia re-signing, but Monte Poole of NBC Bay Area has said that he wants to return next season. McGee has reportedly met with the Clippers and Kings in the past few days, but is also still open to returning. Kevon Looney, David West, Damian Jones and rookie Jordan Bell are currently the four centers, or players capable of playing center, on the Warriors’ roster.
