Free agent forward Andre Iguodala is currently in the process of taking meetings with various suitors, as he decides whether or not he will re-sign with the Golden State Warriors for next season and beyond. After meeting with the Spurs at midnight on Saturday, Iguodala had a meeting with the Houston Rockets on Saturday afternoon. The meeting apparently went “excellent,” and a contract offer was made according to Marc Spears of The Undefeated.

The Rockets are making a strong push to improve their team that finished third in the Western Conference and won 55 games last season, already making the biggest splash of the offseason, acquiring All-Pro point guard Chris Paul in a trade with the Clippers.
Iguodala, 33, is coming off another excellent season with Golden State, finishing in the top three of Sixth Man of the Year voting, and first in real-plus minus amongst NBA reserves. Iguodala has spent the previous four years with the Warriors, helping them to two NBA titles in the process, and winning the 2015 NBA Finals MVP. With the Warriors’ limited cap space, they can likely only sign Iguodala to a contract worth between $10-$12 million per year, much less than he will command on the open market.
It has been reported that the length of the contract is more important to Iguodala than the amount of money, with the Warriors hesitant to add a third year to the deal for tax purposes. It has also been reported by Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN that if Iguodala signs elsewhere, Golden State will target former Kings forward Rudy Gay as his replacement.
