In the least surprising news of Monday night’s NBA Awards Show, Bob Myers was named the Executive of the Year. It was the second time he’s won the honor, as he was also named Executive of the Year in 2015 when his Warriors won their other title during the mini-dynasty he’s already established.
Adding Kevin Durant in the offseason was obviously the key move that earned Myers his award, but even drafting Pat McCaw in the second round and finding JaVale McGee on the free agent market late in the offseason were surely noticed by voters as shrewd moves.
With the recent drafting of potential 2017 Draft sleeper Jordan Bell, Myers may already be on his way to making a case to be next season’s Executive of the Year.
