Zaza’s MRI comes back clean, is day-to-day with heel contusion [report]

Warriors starting center Zaza Pachulia left Tuesday night’s game against the Spurs in the first half after landing awkwardly on a slam dunk attempt. He played just seven minutes in the game and did not return, but the Dubs got good news Wednesday when the MRI on Pachulia’s foot reportedly came back clean.

With three entire days off between games and Game 3 not taking place until Saturday night in San Antonio, Pachulia and the Warriors are lucky in that he will have some time to rest. He tied his playoff-high with 11 points in Game 1 of the series, when he also controversially was involved in a play that injured Spurs’ star Kawhi Leonard.

The right heel contusion is what was reported initially upon Pachulia’s departure from Tuesday’s game, so the fact that the injury diagnosis did not get any more severe is certainly welcome news for the Warriors. Saturday’s game at the Spurs will tip off at 6 p.m. Pachulia’s status appears to be up in the air for now.
