SAN FRANCISCO – Thursday Denard Span will be back in the lineup for the San Francisco Giants after spending two weeks on the DL.
Thursday the Giants return home to face the Reds for the second time in two weeks. Span went 2-6 during a short rehab stint in San Jose after being on the DL for two weeks.
“I was just checking in with my shoulder, making sure that I felt no pain or restrictions,” said Span. “I was just trying to get a couple of at bats under my belt”.
“We need him,” Giants manager Bruce Bochy said before Thursday’s game. “We’re not getting a lot from our lead-off hitter and I think that’s been part of our offensive woes”.
