Desperate for outfield help, the Giants are in the process of calling up fan favorite Michael Morse from Triple-A affiliate Sacramento River Cats sources are telling Alex Pavlovic of NBCSports Bay Area. According to Pavs, Morse is at AT&T Park ahead of the Giants clash against the Dodgers on Wednesday evening.
Michael Morse is at the ballpark. I assume he’s not here to just say hi.

Morse, 35, was primed to make the big league club after putting together an impressive spring, but had his hopes cut short after sustaining a hamstring strain in late March. Morse joined the River Cats for extended spring training and was 5-for-20 in six rehab games with Sacramento. According to Pavlovic, team officials stated that he was having good at-bats.
Morse thought his career was over before a chance encounter with Bobby Evans at Hunter Pence’s wedding, landing an invite to Giants camp with little expectation that he’d actually make the team. Morse was one of the Giants’ best players during his only season in San Francisco helping lead the team to a third World Series title in 2014, hitting 16 home runs and posting an OPS of .811, good for second best on the team. Morse hit one of the most memorable home runs in Giants playoff history off Pat Neshek that helped to clinch the NLCS.
Jarrett Parker has been moved to the 60-day DL. Denard Span has also been moved to the disabled list, Brandon Crawford has been moved to the bereavement list and Kelby Tomlinson has been recalled.
