OAKLAND—Patrick McCaw made his first career NBA playoff start tonight against Portland, scoring nine points in 35 minutes of action. As McCaw was being interviewed postgame, Draymond Green snuck over and pinched McCaw’s ear, sneaking around to the other side of McCaw and doing it again just seconds later.
McCaw left a strong impression on his teammates based on his performance in just his second career playoff game. After the pinching in the locker room, Draymond had nothing but praise for his young teammate. “Pat’s one of those guys where he doesn’t show that he’s overly confident
“Pat’s one of those guys where he doesn’t show that he’s overly confident, because he’ll never say anything, but he’s one of those guys that you don’t have to instill confidence in.” McCaw showed some aggressiveness and attacked the basket efficiently throughout the game.
If Kevin Durant continues to be out going forward in this series, look for McCaw to keep making a significant impact in his absence.
