After starting the 2017 off with a bang by hitting the Giants’ first home run of the season in the second inning of Sunday’s opener against the Diamondbacks, Madison Bumgarner became the first pitcher ever to go yard twice on opening day.

Bumgarner’s first jack came off of former Dodger Zach Greinke, who walked his fellow pitcher during his first at-bat. Bumgarner’s second blast come off of Jorge De La Rosa in the top of the seventh inning, giving the Giants a 4-3 lead after the Diamondbacks tied the game in the bottom of the sixth.

As only KNBR’s talented array of baseball broadcasters can offer, Duane Kuiper and Jon Miller made sure to give you both the feel and the context of how amazing what actually happened at Chase Field on Sunday afternoon truly was.

Enjoy!
