The Golden State Warriors are officially back on track.
Steph Curry scored 23, Klay Thompson scored 34 and the Warriors trounced the Oklahoma City Thunder () Monday night at Chesapeake Energy Arena.
Losers of three straight at this time a week ago, the Warriors were admittedly in a funk. But a get-right homestand against Philadelphia, Orlando and Milwaukee — and now this doozy against OKC — has Golden State feeling like themselves again on a four-game winning streak.
Open shots were finally soaring through the nets for Thompson and Curry, who put on a display that reminded fans of the Western Conference Finals a year ago. Not since Kevin Durant went down to a knee sprain on Feb. 28 have the Warriors looked this dominant. The Splash Brothers each made 7 3’s, only the third time they’ve ever done that. This was a statement game from two of the NBA’s most lethal scorers and the Thunder stood there watching helplessly.
Despite Durant’s absence on the court, the tensions still ran high in this rivalry. Curry, Thompson, Russell Westbrook and Semaj Christon were whistled for quadruple technical fouls in the second quarter following a shoving match.
Moments after the skirmish, Curry hit this buzzer beater right before halftime on a touchdown pass from Thompson.

Golden State outscored Oklahoma City 67-44 in the second and third quarters. The Thunder missed 14 of their free throws and made just 4 of their 20 3-pointers. Russell Westbrook was completely muted (15 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists). OKC’s drop-off from relevance has been staggering and the Warriors swept the 4 game regular season series.
The wild part about the blowout win was that Curry and Thompson received very little help around them offensively. Zaza Pachulia had a particularly poor game, Shaun Livingston’s struggles continued and Draymond Green had just 2 points — but 10 rebounds and 6 assists. It was actually JaVale McGee who turned in one of his better performances of the month (10 points, 5 rebounds, 4 blocks). Matt Barnes (+17) and Andre Iguodala (+16) provided defense off the bench.
The brief road trip extends on Tuesday in Dallas. It’ll be the Warriors’ second to last back-to-back road trip of the regular season.
