Golden State plays hosts the Magic on Thursday and the Bucks on Saturday, so it seems likely that Looney will briefly make the trip between games to get a run during Santa Cruz’s game on Friday evening. Looney has only played in three games this month and in two of those played just two minutes.
Looney has not seen an increase in playing time since the injury to Kevin Durant, and despite a promising start to the season, hasn’t shown encouraging signs that he is ready to be a contributor at the NBA level right now. Looney appears to still be hampered by hip issues that lead to two surgery’s last season.
Looney, 21, was a first round pick by the Warriors in 2015, and is averaging 2.7 points, 0.6 assists and 2.4 rebounds per game this season.
