Phil Dawson thanks 49ers and fans after leaving in free agency

Kicker Phil Dawson signed with the Arizona Cardinals on Thursday after spending the last four seasons as a member of the 49ers.

On Friday, Dawson took to Twitter to thank 49er fans and the organization.

Dawson spent four seasons in San Francisco, after spending 14 with the Cleveland Browns. Dawson made a franchise record 23 consecutive field goals during the 2013 season. His 279 games are second most among active kickers and his 85 percent field goal rate is 11th all time and eighth among active kickers.

He was Bill Walsh Award winner as team MVP in 2015.
