After agreeing to deals with four offensive players on Wednesday, the 49ers are turning their attention to the defensive side of the ball.
San Francisco is one of several teams pushing to ink a one-year deal with two-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Dontari Poe according to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports.
Several teams pushing for DT Dontari Poe – Colts, Falcons, 49ers among them. Quite possible he opts for 1 year deal; hit market again in ’18

Poe has been a member of the Chiefs since 2012 when he was selected 11th overall. Poe made the Pro Bowl in both 2013 and 2014, while also being named a second-team All-Pro in 2013. At 6′ 3″, 346 lbs, Poe, 26, has played primarily nose tackle during his time in Kansas City, but has seen his stock fall since being one of the top interior defenders in the league a few years ago.
Pro Football Focus graded Poe as the 59th best interior lineman in the NFL last season.
