After reportedly agreeing to a deal with 1,000 yard wide receiver Pierre Garcon early Wednesday morning, the San Francisco 49ers finally have someone who might be throwing passes to him.
Former Bears quarterback Brian Hoyer is headed to San Francisco and a reunion with Kyle Shanahan according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. As of now, Hoyer is soon to become the only quarterback on the 49ers’ roster, and will likely be a bridge for an incoming rookie.

Hoyer was also considering joining the Jets, but his relationship with Shanahan, who was his offensive coordinator in 2014, ended up swaying him.

According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, Hoyer is due to sign a two-year deal, worth $10 million guaranteed, and a base salary of $6-$9 million per year depending on performance.
