NFL teams can start negotiating with free agents starting Tuesday.
The San Francisco 49ers currently have no quarterbacks under contract on their roster. Many names have been linked to San Francisco in the last few weeks. One of them being Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Mike Glennon.
However, it appears that Glennon will not be joining new head coach Kyle Shanahan’s roster in 2017
Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area is reporting that the 49ers are not interested in adding Glennon as an option. It has been reported that he will command around $15 million in free agency. It could’ve been the 49ers were not willing to pay that price or they could have felt that Glennon was not a fit in their system.
Glennon’s best year in Tampa Bay came in 2013 when he passed for 2,608 yards with 19 touchdowns and nine interceptions.
New general manager John Lynch told 49ers fans to “stay awake” during free agency. The 49ers have over $90 million to spend, and the rumor mill is just getting started.
